The Work Place, Lochwinnoch

The Work Place, Lochwinnoch No longer active It will also be available as a meeting or workshop space for community groups in evenings and weekends.

During COVID restrictions, The Work Place is available to hire as office space for one person only; however our intention is that, post-COVID, this will become a vibrant coworking space with room for 4-6 people at a time to hotdesk and work flexibly, bringing extra traffic to the other local businesses on the High Street. Local artists and makers who wish to display their work can hire our gallery window for a fortnight or month at a time.

Hi all. We stopped running the co-working space in 2022 - fortunately LEAP - Local Energy Action Plan were able to take it over so please do contact them if you're looking for hot desk space. Have been unable to delete this page so just pinning this to the top.

This month we’ve got a really special exhibition in our window, thanks to local craftsman and tool collector Omar Bhatia (). As per his notes: This exhibition is meant as a memorial to the men and women who worked in the furniture industry that was so important to the fabric of life back then. There were seven factories across the two villages of Beith and Lochwinnoch, that formed the hub of mechanised furniture making in Scotland
in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Most of the tools in the exhibition come from the Garnock Valley and have remained here for over a century.
