We were delighted to welcome members of Anglesey Federation of WIs to watch the live-stream of their NFWI Annual Meeting today. It was a return visit for two women who had last been there as a Brownie and as a Guide! One remembered a fireplace in the main dormitory, with a fire being lit for warmth at night.

A speaker at the meeting was telling us about her years with the late conservationist, Dr Jane Goodall. Jane did so much to improve the lives of young people across the globe. We were reminded of her words which continue to inspire and empower us :

'What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.'

We had an enthusiastic working party at the guide centre on Sunday, who took advantage of the dry weather to paint the fence. Thank you all - it looks great!

Some members of Anglesey Trefoil cut the grass growing around the native tree whips planted by the Rangers last year.

After a busy day, we enjoyed a curry made by our county commissioner followed by an executive team meeting. It was a long day, but the fun and laughter made the time fly by.

One of our treasures from the county archives has been brought along to the Girlguiding stand at the Urdd Eisteddfod -- its the camp blanket donated by the family of Hilda Stamp who did so much for Girlguiding Anglesey and Anglesey Guide Centre Lligwy over many years.

Its such a privilege to have this memento of her guiding journey, and chat today with so many people today from across Cymru as we enjoy our own guiding journeys.

Anglesey is putting out bunting to celebrate the Urdd Eisteddfod this half term, and we are joining in the fun.

If you are at the festival, come and see Girlguiding Caernarfonshire and Girlguiding Anglesey at our stand. Make a badge. Cook your own s'more. There's plenty to do.

Its green bin day today, so we took advantage of the nice weather to remove the ivy and brambles. It looks lovely today - although the greenery will be back soon I'm sure

The sun may be shining and there's still a nip in the air, but there's blossom on the cherry tree. Our quiet corner is becoming a lovely place to sit and think about all the good things that happen when volunteers get together to support our community.

If you get a chance in the coming weeks, its well worth going to see the amazing panels created for the Stitched to the Ground project celebrating the geology and culture of Anglesey. We are part of it too - can you see us at the top of this wall hanging?

The exhibition is in Amlwch Port for a few weeks and then moves to Oriel Môn

Spring is definitely in the air at Anglesey Guide Centre Lligwy this morning. Its a lovely calm morning, the sun is trying its best to shine, and birds are fluttering around looking for nest sites.

Thank you to members of Anglesey Trefoil for the beautiful planters

Its a new year, and a new colour on the old front door at our guide centre. I wonder how many children went through this door when it was National School for the area. Since the building was bought by Girlguiding Anglesey in 1957, it has been an emergency exit and backdrop for many happy pictures of residential events.

Our calendar for 2026 is filling fast. Get in contact if you would like a visit.
