🐦 Birdsong & Breakfast Results!
We’d like to say a huge thank you to those of you that came and celebrated International Dawn Chorus Day on 3rd May.
Two teams set out at 6am from Colby & Llanteg to experience and record the bird song. Altogether, 39 different species were heard with 10 of those being listed as category 1 of conservation concern.

πŸ¦‡ Barbastelle bat update!
Following deployment of bat detectors last year barbastelle bats were recorded in the area.
So, this week volunteers assisted Natur Am Byth project officer Cathy, with the installation of bat boxes. These locally made boxes are targeted towards the barbastelle bat which is one of the rarest bats in the UK.
The boxes were installed within private ancient woodland where the bats prefer to roost in the cracks and crevices of old oak or beech trees. We hope they take up residence soon!
Thank you to Cathy and all involved.
