Explorers and Scouts past and present always remain in our hearts. The experiences we share in scouting help to build team players in life.

It is a great sadness to learn of the passing of Josh Turner. Josh was part of the Explorer Scout group in 2019 before embarking on a career in filmmaking. Josh has recently been working for the Bbc filming cricket, a sport close to his heart. Josh began in Beavers with Julie Crutchley and Angela Davies. He went onto Cubs which was at that time run by his father Trevor Turner and Tom Deakin. Josh enjoyed Scouts with Dave Ashley and was part of the Explorer Scout group with Lisa Stead, before leaving to attend college in Aberystwyth, the start of his film work career.
Josh was a team player always. We have fond memories of Josh being part of the group, here are some photos from that time. We send love and condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. X

In the new year around Easter (fingers crossed 🤞)
We are looking at opening a Squirrels Drey.
This section will be for children aged 4-6. If you are interested in registering your child for this section please contact the group who will add you to the waiting list.

On Monday Beavers and Cubs got to meet our President for the Scout Area/District Russell George. He told them about his job, having to travel to the Senedd each week to meet the other Assembly members, and what he was doing at the moment - discussing the closure of the Welsh Air Ambulance base in Welshpool, and the closure of the day centre in Llanidloes. Then it was question time, lots of questions to Russell and then he quizzed them on what he'd been telling them.

A big Thank you to Russell for coming over and talking with us for Parliament Week (even if we did it a week later)

Last night saw our Scout Patrols Wolves and Cobras go head to head in a Ready Steady Cook cook off. No input from Scout leads other than to make sure that the food was properly cooked.

So Beavers and Cubs had a treat tonight. Had an evening making chocolate with Coco Pzazz. Skip, Bagheera and Hedgehog even got to have a go :).
