Would it be possible to put this notice on the page please? Land management contractors wanted on Beacon & Pool Hill Common (RCL 05) and Llanbister & Moelfre Common (RCL22)
Self-employed contractors are invited to apply to be added to a framework or pool of contractors if they can demonstrate their skill and experience and provide relevant certificates of competence, appropriate training, operators licences and insurance for one or more of the following:
• Bracken, heather, gorse and other vegetation management on upland open country by cutting, brashing or spraying
• Legal methods of fox and crow control including use of thermal scope and rifle at night, and Larsen/ladder traps
• Pond restoration
• Monitoring/evaluation the quality and effect of completed management works
• Surveying birds, ponds, habitats etc to assess impacts of the project
• Condition assessments of fences; suitability of sites for hedge restoration or creation and double fencing; vegetation condition; access for machinery
This is part of the Beacon and Moelfre Commons Collaboration Project for sustainable farming and nature, run by graziers from both commons and the sporting tenant.
