Baby Basics Liverpool

Baby Basics Liverpool Liverpool Baby Bank working with health professionals to support expectant mums experiencing hardship with newborn items and safe-sleep. Support babies 0-2yrs.

We welcome donations of new and preloved baby equipment, financial assistance and volunteers. Baby Basics Liverpool was launched by Freedom Church Liverpool in August 2015. We accept referrals through your Midwife, Health Visitor or other professional agencies / charities. We do not accept self referrals. We can help vulnerable groups such as teenage parents, asylum seekers, those fleeing domestic

abuse, trafficking or who are struggling to provide the everyday essentials for their baby. Our Moses baskets provide a safe bed to sleep in and are packed full of toiletries-nappies, wipes, maternity pads etc as well as blankets, towels and baby clothes. For some these are the only items they have for their child. We believe that Baby Basics shows GOD’S LOVE IN ACTION
Thank you so much for your donations, we are so grateful for how generous people are in supporting Baby Basics. A full list of items that we accept can be found in our photos. Financial donations are very welcome, they help our service to purchase new mattresses, baby items and cover the running costs of this busy centre - if you would like to know more please message our team on [email protected]

Despite half term the team are cracking on with referrals as the numbers of people needing support keep rising.
Although our costs do increase with this, since we have to purchase new mattresses and toiletries amongst other things, the number of items we’re recycling is increasing too!
A huge thank you and well done Liverpool for your ongoing generosity, care for your community and recycling ♻️

As we prepare for half term we’re so grateful for all the support we’ve received lately from our many donors!

We’ve had so many amazing donations this week and have no room for any more bags but we do need toiletries please! These cost us a fortune each month so any you can supply help enormously 🥰

We were glad to have Rob Lindsay back from Kaplan to help us with some filming, improving our digital processes and helped sort clothing too. He’s been a huge support!
Do you get corporate volunteer days? Do you have specific skills that might help our charitable project? Or simply want to come and support our team? Please get in touch as we’d love to hear from you.

🎉What a great week!

So many grateful referrers collected amazing donations to help families in crisis.
Lots sending in the same comment:
‘Thanks to you and your incredible team, the work you all do makes such a difference.’ 🥰♻️🎉

Your support this week has made a difference to a variety of difficult situations: teenage mums or displaced mums without support, victims of trafficking, families co-sleeping unsafely who now have safe-sleep measures, enabled isolated families to get out of the house and access services with a pram or sling, and supported people living in financial crisis to name just a few.

We’ve loved meeting donors dropping items off with us and those of you we’ve collected from too!

Our team ended the week with a trip down to Otterspool prom to join in with the pram push! What a terrific time that was!
We loved meeting so many new faces, sharing about and meeting other wonderful charities too!

Time for a quiet weekend!

Blessings xx

Sometimes it can be a little quiet in the unit and you hear us asking for referrers to collect and for people to please donate! …
Other times it’s non stop. The past week was one of those- it has been non stop activity which we LOVE!

We still need donations of:
🌟 A double or Triple pram
🌟Cots and Cotbeds (to fit mattresses of 120x60 or 140x70xm)
🌟Moses baskets and stands
🌟Baby wipes
🌟 Chocolates or biscuits for mums
🌟 3-6month clothing ONLY

I can’t fit in or remember the names of all the wonderful folk who’ve donated or dropped in this past week but you’re all so appreciated! 🥰 Thank you!!

Thank you so much everyone!

Lots to share today and to be thankful for!

🌟Lots of our referrers collected large bundles just in time to make vital space in the unit. We were able to provide emergency equipment to families in crisis - and we’ve around a dozen Moses baskets waiting to be packed thanks to all your donations!

🌟Rob from came to spend a corporate volunteering day with us. He spent the morning coming up with technical and admin support for Tor, speeding up many of our processes. Then this afternoon he joined Sadie, Ruth and Tor in the unit- packing baskets, sorting donations, loading referrals into midwives vehicles and helping put away and photograph the corporate donations! Thanks for being a huge help Rob!

🌟 Our termly National Delivery arrived 🙌full of incredible goodies from partner corporations, thanks to and driver Valentine!

Being part of the network Baby Basics UK brings lots of support and shared learning - but three times a year we also receive incredible donations from Corporate sponsors!
This time we want to thank:
Childbase Partnership @rainbow Claire de Lune@haakaa_uk .uk

Sorry for the long post but wow are@we feeling blessed and grateful!

So many of our families can’t afford anything new at all for themselves or their children, and whilst we absolutely believe in ♻️ recycling proved items, it is still very special to be able to include one or two brand new things for these families. 🥰

It’s International Day of the midwife and Maternal Mental Health week - both very precious topics to us!

We’re so grateful to work in support and alongside many midwives and other agencies who support women in the most incredibly vulnerable moments of life - becoming mothers.

Here’s a few more images of the support flowing in and out of our centre this week. Mothers supporting mothers, women upholding women, a community of men and women changing lives for good and lifting one another up in their hour of need!

Special thanks to our wonderful knitters at once again.

Moses baskets keep trickling in just in time to keep us going so thank you - please keep them coming! We’ve still no delivery date for the new ones we’ve ordered...
