Baby Basics Liverpool Liverpool Baby Bank working with health professionals to support expectant mums experiencing hardship with newborn items and safe-sleep. Support babies 0-2yrs.

We welcome donations of new and preloved baby equipment, financial assistance and volunteers. Baby Basics Liverpool was launched by Freedom Church Liverpool in August 2015. We accept referrals through your Midwife, Health Visitor or other professional agencies / charities. We do not accept self referrals. We can help vulnerable groups such as teenage parents, asylum seekers, those fleeing domestic abuse, trafficking or who are struggling to provide the everyday essentials for their baby. Our Moses baskets provide a safe bed to sleep in and are packed full of toiletries-nappies, wipes, maternity pads etc as well as blankets, towels and baby clothes. For some these are the only items they have for their child. We believe that Baby Basics shows GOD’S LOVE IN ACTION

😎 It’s Summer Closure time!!

The team have worked super hard to reach this point and won’t be responding to emails or messages for a few weeks. 🤫. They are the most incredible people who work tirelessly to support vulnerable families. Please give them a like to thank them! Tbh most of them intend to keep working behind the scenes over summer… there’s no stopping them!

We will post on here if we’re having an open day for donations, so keep an eye out. We have a lot to work through before we know quite what we’re in need of.

In September we’ll be back fully open and have ensured that we can spend the summer catching up with all the washing, folding, ironing and organising. There is simply not enough time during open season! Every time we think we’re nearly there, more rolls in! A great blessing really.

We never have enough of the following items so please consider donating these once we reopen:

☀️ Toiletries for mum
☀️ Nappies & wipes for baby
☀️ Baby towels & muslins
☀️ Newborn prams

We’ve almost done it - Summer closure after tomorrow’s last day!

Well done to all our wonderful volunteers for an epic year of referrals - our busiest season by a mile… 💪😅👏👏

Thank you to everyone who responded to our mini appeal for clothes. We’ve plenty to finish this week’s referrals. It’s been a treat meeting you all.

Thank you referrers for getting in to grab your parcels and for all the helpful feedback and stories of the impact these are having on families facing such tough times.
Lots of very last minute referrals too for mums with nothing prepared or unable to source items they need to secure safe sleep affordably… So relieved we can stand in this gap and make provision for them.

This is going to be a record breaking year for us and that puts a huge strain on our budget, our time, our team and resources.

Newborn clothes are way too low so please have a hunt around and drop in any bags of newborn items to us, clean and ready to use!

Any more baskets you can find would also be amazing please.

A bustling couple of days here, seeing us well on track to complete our referrals.

Sue B was back from her adventures and in her happy place again!
Kathryn brought the scrumptious Lewis in - a rare treat for us to actually snuggle a real baby, rather than just the items they need.

We got a delivery of new baskets and lots of preloved baskets and prams dropped off for us which are incredible! Thank you all so much!

It’s always fun for donors when they visit and see donations going straight out with our referring partners and that happened a lot today. The turnover is really fast at present but we know the impact we’re having on families facing tough situations.

We’re in need of more baskets, some 0-3m vests & treats and toiletries for mums.

We’re into the last push now before our Summer Closure on the 24th 💪☀️

Here’s some snaps from the past few busy days.

Our shelves and stores are being stripped as we meet the rush before we close for summer. Still plenty of clothes but we need those prams, baskets and baby books pls!

We still urgently need Moses baskets please to be able to pack enough starter packs up for babies to have a safe start. Please drop clean baskets into us asap - we’ll give them new mattresses and fill with love and essentials!

It’s still lovely and cool in the unit if you fancy joining us next week to help sort through donations and pack baskets! Tor recruited her son Ollie today to be an extra pair of hands since fracturing her wrist at the weekend. We’re delighted to have a couple of new faces joining us this week already.

Tuesday was a special day for helpers!

We have more corporate volunteers in from Riverside Group - a huge help with all the donations we need to process.

They also brought bags of donations that all went towards our current referrals.

Sadie’s lovely nieces Florence and Honey came along to help out too. They picked out treats for the mums and made up this beautiful basket!

Fancy sparing an hour or two out of the heat and coming to volunteer in our cool unit?! We need all the help we can get to meet our deadlines this month!

As usual we will be closing for August in order for our team to take a proper break, take stock and use some downtime to reorganise our overwhelmed unit.

Of course babies are still being born so we make sure that provision is in place for emergencies!

We won’t be responding to your messages on socials so please be reassured that you can probably find the answers to your questions on our page or website.

Referrers: please get in touch if your department wants to keep an emergency pack for August in your office & take note of our dates please.

Donors: We may open for one or two days only in August so keep an eye out for when we share these dates.
We will always need your Moses baskets so pls keep these for us and keep an eye out too.
Clothing - we’re very full so please drop these elsewhere for now. Although Newborn coats will be requested from September once we reopen.

So many incredible donations being recycled ♻️ safely to support families who desperately need them and don’t have recourse to afford them otherwise.

We still need another double pram for twins and more Moses baskets too please.
