Hi folks. Just a quick reminder we will be having our regular monthly meeting on Monday 5 October, all are welcome.

The charity greatly supports the service provided by the council. Through fundraising and successful gaining grants we are able to fund a wide range of activities. For example thanks to a generous Co-Op grant for out and about activities, yesterday our first group went on a Beatles related open top bus tour of Liverpool. A WIrral CVS grant continues to fund group sessions at Seacombe soccer drone, and cycling in Birkenhead Park. We have also financed a visit from John the Owlman, and A to Z Safari and lots more. Thank you to all our generous supporters.

This week, the weather is expected to be very hot.

People with a learning disability, autism, and ADHD might not notice when they are getting too hot or need a break.

They might not know they are overheating until they feel unwell.

We have made an easy read to help you stay safe and comfortable in the heat. It has ways to stay cool, how to protect yourself from the sun and other helpful tips for hot weather.

💙 Learning Disability Week 2026 💙

This year’s theme, “Do You See Me?”, reminds us that people with learning disabilities deserve to be seen, heard, respected, and included.

Let’s challenge barriers, champion accessibility, and celebrate the strengths and contributions of people with learning disabilities.

👀 Do we really see people?
👂 Do we listen to their experiences?
🤝 Do we create spaces where everyone belongs?

This , let’s turn awareness into action and make inclusion a reality for all. 💙

At 10.00 am this Friday (12th) 🗓️ we are having another fundraising coffee morning, all are welcome.

The Charity continues to fund activities, recent purchases are two boxes of art & craft 🖼️ materials, and we have laid out over £80 for fares to enable the centre users to go out - while our minibus 🚌 sits there due to ongoing industrial action 🙈

The last I heard WBC and ACAS were attempting to resolve the issues.

There is also a 'Showcase' event to be held at the Floral tomorrow (11th). This is an opportunity to see what the day centres and other sites have to offer while we await the decision regarding the transformation of day centres. 👀

This morning we had our latest charity- funded activity. A very, very interesting session with John ‘The Owl Man’. Everyone asked lots of questions and thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
