One of our patches had their first meet up last weekend to discuss all things gardening. From planning their patches to what they are growing it was a great time to get together and chat about something they all love! The bonus was, the sun kept shining!

As the weather is getting warmer, although not necessarily drier, we are seeing our veg really beginning to grow! With potatoes, carrots, broccoli and tomatoes, plus much more, sprouting up it looks like it's going to be a busy year!

Last year, we were joined by the University of Chester, who came and observed our service over a couple of months ahead of writing an evaluation. The conclusion was clear that Street Angels makes a valuable contribution to the local community, and that it promotes a sense of safety and community pride.

Our team was out again on Friday night, helping those out on the street who might be particularly vulnerable or need a helping hand. Our volunteers are the heartbeat of this project, and one of our team is taking it to the next level by running the London Marathon and raising money for Street Angels Birkenhead!

We are well into Spring and seedlings should be beginning to pop out, especially as we see some warmer weather. Here at Hitched Communities we are working hard on a new website for our Made On My Patch programme, to enable more patches to pop up further afield.

Yesterday, four of our Street Angels in Birkenhead hosted a stall at the Pathways to Purpose Volunteer Recruitment Fair. It was a fantastic morning with a good stream of people throughout the event with over 30 leaving their details for us to follow up! Working in partnership with local organisations is one of our key aims, and this was a great time to look at the fantastic work of other organisations in Birkenhead and surrounding areas.
