Summer plans? Make PrEP a part of your packing list

Next week is PrEP Awareness Week 2026!

PrEP (pre‑exposure prophylaxis) is a medication that prevents HIV before exposure. When taken correctly, it’s highly effective and gives people more choice and control over their s*xual health.

You can take PrEP daily or around the times you have s*x, and it’s free from NHS s*xual health services. Yet many people who could benefit from PrEP don’t realise it’s an option for them.

This summer, we’re encouraging people to plan and PrEP for Summer.

*BPLS Inspire Awards 2026 - HIV & A**l Cancer Campaign*

BHA Liverpool is proud to be highly commended for our 'Break the Taboo: HIV & A**l Health' campaign, in collaboration with Intent Health, by the BPLS Inspire Awards.

The campaign aimed to raise awareness of a**l cancer and it's prevalence in people living with HIV, along with research findings that Black patients are more likely to be diagnosed at a later stage which leads to worse outcomes.

We are proud to have partnered with on this powerful campaign to improve the lives of people living with HIV.
