University of Liverpool Amnesty International University of Liverpool Amnesty International. Affiliated with Amnesty UK. Dealing with human rights violations worldwide through education and activism.

As a society our primary objective is to raise awareness concerning situations in which truth has been supressed, justice denied, or dignity stripped away from an individual or a particular group of people. Moreover, we aim to help the people who fall victim human rights abuses all across the globe, striving to provide a voice to those who desperately need it. We do this by lobbying government off

icials, signing petitions, hosting events to raise awareness and/or money for a cause, collaborating with other societies and local interest groups, and inviting in guest speakers - whom can expertly speak about a given topic. Feel free to attend at any point in the year, we always welcome new members! This society can be whatever you make of it; feel free to bring your passion, skills or particular interest surrounding human rights issues to the group. Hope you can make it!
