Yesterday, our Circle achieved another tremendous success. A completely packed room with an audience absolutely mesmerised by the incredible talent of our close-up and stage performers: Harvey, Orpheus, Adam Dadswell, Mason King and Terry.

These amazing artists delivered a night of real magic. And let me tell you, I could not be more proud or more honoured that they made the 2026 President’s Night truly unforgettable. It was special. Really special.

But yesterday evening was even bigger than magic alone. We became part of history. Our celebration joined a worldwide moment, the commemoration of the 🇺🇸 250th Anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America 🇺🇸. A milestone and a celebration of freedom.

The American Dream teaches us something very important: Nothing is impossible if you dare to dream it — and work hard for it.
And our performers worked hard. Very hard. They pushed themselves to the highest level of their talent. And so is doing our Circle. We are working harder than ever before to grow, improve, and become bigger and stronger than ever.

Let us remember, paraphrasing the great President Kennedy: “Do not ask what Magic can do for you… ask what you can do for Magic.”

That’s the spirit, folks. That’s how greatness is built.

Together, we made magic great.
Together, we are making magic great.
And together — we will continue to MAKE MAGIC GREAT… AGAIN!

Broken Wand

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of former Mahatma member and well-known entertainer John Dixon, known to many as Mr Trix.

John brought joy, laughter and wonder to countless children and families throughout his career. He was a talented performer, a valued member of the magic community, and someone who was always willing to offer encouragement, support and friendship to others.

Many members will have fond memories of John through his performances, his kindness, and his involvement within the magic fraternity over the years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

On behalf of everyone at Mahatma Magic Circle, we extend our sincere condolences to his wife Lynda, his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

Rest in peace, John.

A huge thank you to Craig Petty for an excellent lecture for the Liverpool Mahatma Magic Circle last week.

The lecture centred around an important creative principle within magic — taking an existing trick, plot, or method and developing it into something fresh, modern, and uniquely your own. Craig shared a huge amount of practical thinking and real-world experience throughout the evening, with plenty of strong material and ideas for performers of all levels.

Highlights included several ACAAN variations, a very clever coin/sponge ball routine, and some exclusive unreleased material that was only shared with those fortunate enough to be in attendance — a reminder of why supporting live lectures and magic clubs is still so valuable and beneficial.

You could really see the effort Craig had put into making sure everybody took something away from the evening, whether that be methods, presentations, routining ideas, or simply inspiration to think more creatively.

Professional, entertaining, generous with his knowledge, and packed with ideas from start to finish.

Thank you again Craig — we really appreciate you taking the time to lecture for us.

Last night was a fantastic evening at Liverpool Mahatma Magic Circle with David Penn delivering a superb, highly practical and engaging lecture.

The first half focused on real-world close-up performance, including approaches to groups, strong openers, and integrating modern digital tools.

A highlight was David’s insight into the creative process—how ideas develop from initial concepts and prototypes through to finished effects, often driven by those key “serendipitous” moments along the way.

The second half explored building a strong stage act, including thinking behind the development of FISM World Champions - Mind2Mind. This offered valuable insight into structure, clarity, and creating memorable moments for an audience.

Huge thank you to David for a fantastic evening, and to everyone who attended.

✨ **A Fantastic Lecture with Dave Forrest – March 12th** ✨

What an incredible evening we had with Dave Forrest!

The lecture was very well attended and thoughtfully structured into two parts. After producing a full deck from a flat Dave showcased his latest creations—featuring truly baffling 🧠 mind-reading effects using a just playing cards. Clever, deceptive, and highly original.

After a short break—during which members supported the club through the new raffle (with some genuinely amazing prizes!)—the second half revealed even more of Dave’s versatility.

This time, he expanded beyond cards, presenting a mix of close-up and parlour magic. Highlights included a brilliantly entertaining take on the classic pea can with an unexpected 🔩 twist, a visually stunning reimagining of the Six Card Repeat, an hands-off book test that can be perform anytime-anywhere, a divination of a card by… taste 😋 and a hilarious yet suspenseful Russian roulette routine with bleach—featuring a brave volunteer and a rather memorable blindfold!

Dave’s explanations were crystal clear throughout. He engaged the audience effortlessly, offering not just methods, but plenty of thoughtful insights 💭 for magicians of all levels.

The evening concluded with a chance to explore Dave’s latest releases, along with his classic booklets—and even a free gift for those who joined his newsletter.
