dot-art

dot-art dot-art is a Liverpool based art organisation which exists to make affordable original art accessibl

dot-art was founded in Liverpool in 2006 and specialises in affordable, high quality, locally sourced art. We work with over 100 artists to provide an unrivaled choice of original art and limited edition prints for home or business, as well as offering a range of complementary services including; commissions, art rental, art consultancy, exhibition planning and implementation, bespoke framing, art

valuation and restoration and artist sourcing. Artwork can be browsed at our gallery on Queen Avenue, our website (www.dot-art.com) and Rex: The Concept Store on Bold Street, Liverpool. dot-art supports visual artists and champions art as an integral part of everyday life. We do this by selling locally sourced, affordable art, working with businesses to put art in the workplace and public realm, running art classes and working with schools and community groups. All this is underpinned by our unique membership scheme for artists in the North West which gives access to all the activities above and a package of support and advice, creating and developing artists’ careers. All our work supports our not-for profit arm, dot-art Services CIC, which exists to support North-West based visual artists, both emerging and established, through a range of services and opportunities designed to help them develop their careers and gain exposure and promotion for their work, as well as delivering a programme of art classes across Liverpool; and dot-art Schools, our innovative inter school art competition, launched in 2012.

Earlier this year, our founder Lucy Byrne was named a finalist in the Pioneering Woman category of the NatWest SE100 Impact Pioneer Awards 2026 🎉

For 20 years, Lucy has championed the belief that art should be accessible to everyone, building dot-art into a social enterprise that supports artists, inspires young people and connects communities through creativity.

Alongside Lucy's individual recognition, dot-art was also named as one of the UK's Top 100 Social Enterprises in the NatWest SE100 Index – a fantastic acknowledgement of the impact our team, past and present has worked hard to create through the arts.

The awards took place in Manchester on 13th May, bringing together some of the country's most inspiring social enterprises and impact-driven leaders.

During the summer, there’s always an incredible event to look forward to in Liverpool, and hotels fill up quick!

Late last year we worked with our neighbour to fill their reception and lounge spaces with work from local artists.

If you’re visiting Liverpool, take a stroll down the avenue to find more works by these artists, and many more in our gallery.

If you’re a business, perhaps some empty walls need a little love? We can help. Get in touch.

Works by: John Petch, Jane Adams, Martin Jones and Richard Farrell.

Art in the EV: Group of Three

Three accomplished Southport-based artists come together to explore our enduring connection with the natural world.

🎨 Henrietta Ackah-Joyce draws inspiration from coastlines, pinewoods, and country walks, creating vibrant works that celebrate colour, texture, and the beauty of nature through fluid art.

🧵 Pam Thomas transforms fabric and thread into intricate stitched artworks, weaving together texture, form, and storytelling in contemporary textile pieces.

🖼️ Rita Mitchell, a former commercial landscape artist, now works primarily in oils, capturing people within their environments and creating evocative moods influenced by the masters.

Having exhibited widely across the region, including at The Atkinson and Southport Contemporary Arts, this talented trio presents a diverse and thought-provoking exhibition celebrating the relationship between people and the world around them.

Catch the exhibition at (1st floor) before 23rd of June.
All works are for sale.

Do check daily opening hours of the Everyman Theatre before your visit.

Our prize draw, to win an original painting by Alexis Butterfield, worth over £1,000 continues - perhaps you managed to catch the work, or chat to Alexis in the flesh at the launch of ?

We thought we would share some more examples of available work by Alexis, depicting some familiar, and some less recognisable places in and around Liverpool. Put brilliantly by Alexis:

“My artwork is about ways of seeing and valuing the everyday past that surround us. I believe historic places and buildings are not neutral objects, from the time of their creation to the present day. They can have particular and elusive qualities that I want to capture through my drawing”

To be in with a chance of winning 'Castle St, Liverpool' (scroll to the end to see the work in situ), pay £5 and enter here: https://form.jotform.com/dotart/the-dot-art-prize-draw

Every entry directly supports , which is inspiring the next generation of artists, all over the country.
