This weekend, we're inviting residents and the community to join artist Emma Rodgers at the Old Fire Station on Friday 2, Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October to create your own recycled light holders which will form part of a special light parade to unveil the restored Boating Pond later this autumn 🕯️

Drop in between 10am–3pm and remember to bring your own plastic bottles from home – larger and flatter bottomed bottles are best. A limited number of plastic bottles will be available to use if you don’t have any. Any donations are welcome.

You can find the Old Fire Station behind Nettle Café on Greendale Road.

All lights and lanterns will then be carried by their makers through the village to the Boating Pond as part of a special event to mark the switching on of the fountain – date to be announced soon! Everyone who lives, works, or has a special connection to Port Sunlight is welcome to take part.

A Liverpool 1950s fashion icon is coming to Port Sunlight 👗

A new exhibition celebrating the glamorous of life of June Duncan opens at The Gallery at Bridge Cottage this Saturday 26 September, where through photographs and other objects you'll be able to explore how she went from Liverpool to London to Paris and the world. Free entry, donations welcome.

This autumn, we're inviting residents and the community to help unveil the restored Boating Pond by making and parading magical lights through village’s streets.

There are two opportunities to take part:

🕯 Join artist Emma Rodgers at the Old Fire Station on Friday 2, Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October to create your own light holder. Drop in between 10am–3pm and bring your own plastic bottles from home – larger and flatter bottomed bottles are best. A limited number of plastic bottles will be available to use if you don’t have any.

🕯 Visit School of Create – based at the back of the Lyceum on Bath Street – on Saturday 17 October, 10am–3pm, to get creative and make decorated lanterns and jars using shapes, patterns and motifs based on the fountain. All materials are provided.
