Today is the seventeenth anniversary of the brutal attack in Stubbylee Park which put Sophie in the coma from which she never recovered. She died thirteen days later. We think of her today, as she was, with her life ahead of her and a future to possess. We grieve her loss, but she will never be forgotten. Sophie Lancaster. Her name is now an emblem for those of us who believe in respect and tolerance and our right to be ourselves without prejudice, judgement and violence. We will not be hijacked by those who want to divide us and use difference as a vehicle to impart their hate. We are stronger together.

A poignant and beautiful evening at our vigil last Friday. Lovely to see a plaque presented to Marie and Mike Causer commemorating the bandstand (seen in the photo) built in Michael’s name. Fitting that we closed with the wonderful Liverpool Signing Choir leading us in song. Thank you to our contributors and the many supporters attending last Friday.

Our work continues and see you all next year. ❤️

We had a super day at Knowsley Pride last week - delighted that the Foundation was able to help with some funds to help with the day’s events. We look forward to working with One Knowsley and our friends in LCR Pride on next year’s event. X

Our vigil for Michael Causer will be held at Court Hey Park, commencing at 6pm on August 2nd. A young life cut short by an horrendous hate crime. It’s 16 years since his passing and our Foundation still has work to do in providing safe spaces for young LGBTQI+ people; increase understanding and support for diversity AND see hate crimes eradicated from our society.

We hold the vigil in Michael’s memory and hope to you can join us.

Working with some great folks at OneKnowsley on some new projects - more to follow soon.

Alongside the vigil for Michael and the LCR Pride event, we are also pleased to be involved with Knowsley Pride in the year ahead.

is upon us 👏🏳️‍🌈

15 years ago, Michael was viciously taken from us - this is why we march!

We will be marching from St George's Hall, Liverpool, to protest hate and discrimination against the LGBTQIA+ community.

We hope to see you there - be safe ❤️

🌈 Under One Knowsley's stewardship, the Michael Causer Foundation remains dedicated to fostering a society that embraces everyone's true identity.

This year, on August 2nd, we're convening a vigil at The Courtyard, Court Hey Park, from 5.30pm to 6.30pm. We'll commemorate Michael's memory and take a stand against hate crimes.

We invite you to join us as we reflect on our journey and envision a future filled with acceptance and unity.

As Trustees and on behalf of Mike and Marie Causer and the foundation, we are delighted to give you a heads up on changes in the running of the Michael Causer Foundation. This will bring us some exciting new projects and a revitalised focus. Of course, it also means Michael’s name and legacy is returning to the place of his birth and life.

The announcement has appeared in various places, attached is the one from ‘The Guide’
