Fantastic hour and a half this morning, clearing a section of the woodland paths up by the Pendle Estate.
This might be a lesser known part of the park to some, but it's well used and unfortunately swamped with litter... but what a stunning, tranquil spot.
There's also a massive section of flytipping which we're reporting to the council as it needs a skip and many more hands to clear it safely.
Thankfully, much of the litter was historic, so after this and a few more deep cleans, it will be easier to keep on top of things.
27 bags in total and we will be back again soon.
HUGE thanks to our incredible volunteers for making such a difference.
Want to join us next time? Why not get in touch or follow us on Eventbrite 💚

Huge thanks to our volunteer Jordan Hau for last night's presentation at Crosby Library.
We learned about his lifelong ties to Rimrose, studies in sustainable architecture... and how Rimrose became the subject of a major design project for his Masters at the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales.
An incredible amount of work went into this and the level of detail was INSANE!
By Jordan's own admission, the community hub and habitat centre had been deliberately scaled up to meet the requirements of his assignment, but the vision, local, natural materials used and the sympathetic designs are something that could easily be translated into something smaller, someday!
The project brought together everything that Rimrose is about: including nature, community and connection.
We'll soon be planning our next members' talk. If there's anything specific you'd like to see covered, let us know!

It was a beautiful, frosty spring morning on Rimrose today.
We love ALL the park's habitats but, at first glance, these grasslands in the north of the park may not look particularly 'special'.
In fact, they're very special indeed!
The soil is low-nutrient and acidic which makes it ideal for heather to grow and patches of heather can indeed found here! Heathland is incredibly rare on Merseyside, so we're lucky to have this.
We're not so lucky to have the invasive Japanese Rose surrounding it, and work to treat this will need to take place in the future.
So, when we talk about making space on the park's grasslands to attract new species, this includes plants like heather.
You'll also notice that PLENTY of brambles can be found here too 🙂
Managing sites like this is a balancing act and we're learning more and more as time passes. Together with Green Sefton we'll be doing our bit to make Rimrose as biodiverse as possible in the weeks, months and years ahead 💚

Morning folks! We've now had TWELVE winners of our lottery since we launched in January - each matching 3 out of 6 numbers and winning 5 additional entries in the draw.
But who will be our first cash winner...?
Cash prizes are £25 (for matching 4 numbers) £1,000 (5 numbers) or a whopping £25,000 (all 6 numbers) and these are up for grabs every single Friday.
We now have almost 50 weekly players, and some with multiple entries. This means our charity is starting to receive the benefit, with 50p of every £1 entry making its way to us at the end of each month :-)
THANK YOU 💚
