Our Beavers headed out on a mini beast adventure this week, hunting for creepy crawlies and discovering the kinds of habitats they love 🐛🔍

They then put their new knowledge into action by building bug hotels for our garden area – creating a cosy home for all sorts of tiny visitors 🐞🌿

Happy St George's Day! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿⚜

This past Sunday, 12th Lincoln Tritton Scout Group proudly joined our wider Lincoln Scouting family for Lincoln Scouts St George’s Day Parade - a truly special tradition that has been taking place for over 100 years, making it the longest-standing parade in Lincoln.

Chosen by Robert Baden-Powell as our patron saint, St George represents courage, determination, and doing what is right - values that sit at the very heart of Scouting. This year’s theme of memories gave us a chance to reflect on the moments that shape us, from first adventures to lifelong friendships.

Our young people and volunteers paraded from The Lawn, through the Castle, and into the Cathedral, where we came together for a service. There, we renewed our Scout Promise, celebrated shared memories, and stood together as one Scouting community - a powerful reminder of the unity and spirit that Scouting brings to Lincoln.

A huge thank you to all our members and families who took part - it was fantastic to see such strong support for 12th. And a special mention to two of our Scouts who had the honour of helping lead the parade with the proudly playing the trumpet all the way to the Cathedral - a moment to be incredibly proud of! 🎺👏

Here’s to the memories we’ve made - and all the adventures still to come. 🌟

Lights, camera… animation! 🎬✨

Over the past couple of weeks at Cubs, our young creators have been bringing their ideas to life through stop motion!Storyboarding their ideas, before modelling scenes with toys and clay, they created their own mini films. It’s been brilliant to see their creativity shine.

We took inspiration from Morph and then chatted about where stop motion appears in films, before having a go ourselves using the free version of Stop Motion Studio.

The results? Incredible efforts, teamwork, and lots of fun 👏🎥

⚔️ Last weekend our Scouts stepped back in time for an incredible HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) taster session with Wolfshead Western Martial Arts!

Getting hands-on with longswords they learnt real techniques. Our Scouts loved the experience, finishing off with some friendly sparring matches 💥

A fantastic morning full of focus, fun, and something completely different. Safe to say it was a hit with everyone involved!

A huge thank you to the instructors for giving up their time and sharing their expertise with us 👏

Pioneering fun at Scouts last week! 🪢

Our patrols took on the challenge of building their own drying racks using clove hitches, lashings, and teamwork… and they absolutely smashed it. Some seriously sturdy (and impressive!) structures all round! 👏

It’s great to see skills coming together in a practical way – problem solving, teamwork, and a bit of creativity too. Exactly what Scouts is all about.

We’ve currently got a handful of spaces available in our Scout troop, so if you have a 10.5-14 year old that would like to get involved and learn skills for life, drop us a message to find out more. 😊

What do you do when you suddenly have many boxes?

Give them to the Beavers, and challenge them to design a fort for their lodge, of course!

Our Beavers and Cubs had so much fun creating structures. Because what's better than a cardboard box? Literally dozens of cardboard boxes 😂

These boxes were very kindly donated by Reuseabox for YMCA Lincolnshire Sleep Easy 2026 event. Held earlier this month at Lincoln Cathedral the event involves spending a night sleeping outside the cathedral to help raise awareness and vital funds for those facing homelessness.
