After a full day on site, there's something reassuring about knowing dinner is already taken care of.

As Volunteers' Week comes to a close, we want to say a huge thank you to every single volunteer helping make Poacher 2026 possible.

Whether you're part of the organising team, delivering activities, supporting a section, welcoming arrivals, keeping the site safe, serving food, managing logistics, providing medical support, leading a subcamp, working behind the scenes, or giving your time in countless other ways – thank you.

Poacher is built by volunteers. Without your dedication, enthusiasm and commitment, the adventure of a lifetime simply wouldn't happen. Thousands of young people will create memories, friendships and experiences that will stay with them forever because of the time and effort you give.

We're now under two months away from welcoming everyone to Lincolnshire for Poacher 2026, and we can't wait to see you all on site.

Meet our Site Services Team Leader, Darryl!

"Ensuring the site continues to operate smoothly and efficiently."

From maintaining facilities and managing waste services to solving unexpected challenges throughout the week, the Site Services Team helps keep Poacher running day and night.

Their work often goes unnoticed, but it's essential to creating a safe, clean and enjoyable environment for everyone on site.

Meet Jacob, Deputy Head of Jamboree Operations & Safety.

"The teams that make up our department are key to helping keep Poacher ticking over."

From Safety, Stewarding and Security to Medical Services and the Event Operations Centre, Jacob's teams help ensure the jamboree runs smoothly and safely for everyone on site.

They're the people coordinating information, supporting incidents and helping keep everything running behind the scenes so participants can focus on enjoying the adventure.

Meet our Onsite Transport Team Leader.

"My role is to help keep things moving."

From transporting equipment and supporting visitors to maintaining the fleet of buggies and vehicles that keep the site running, the Transport Team works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure people and resources get where they need to be.

It's one of those roles that many participants never see, but Poacher couldn't operate without it.

Meet our Deputy Head of Bookings.

"Being part of the team that helps create such an incredible experience for thousands of young people makes it absolutely worth it."

Before Poacher even begins, the Bookings Team is busy supporting groups, answering questions and helping preparations run smoothly. During the event, they're often the first faces people meet as they arrive on site, helping participants from across the world get where they need to be and ensuring everyone receives a warm Poacher welcome.

Meet Tracy and Martin, our Africa Subcamp Chiefs.

🏕️ "We're really looking forward to meeting you all and making friends."

From supporting participants throughout the week to running evening activities and creating a welcoming home-from-home atmosphere, the Subcamp Team plays a huge role in making every Poacher experience memorable.

Whether it's answering questions, helping solve problems or simply checking in with a friendly smile, Tracy, Martin, and their team will be there every step of the way.
