The Nature Kids (up to 12 per group, ages 7 to 11) are looked after by Julie (Leader/Manager, OCN NI Level 3 Award in Leadership in Forest Schools). Julie has a social work and youth work background as well as basic outdoor qualifications, including required First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications. Julie has a number of years experience working with, supervising, planning and delivering sessions
to children and young people. She has Childcare (NVQ Level 3) and experience with children as a behaviour support assistant. Lucinda is also a qualified massage therapist. Emma also supports the group. She is experienced in supporting children and young people in Educational settings. Emma has Childcare (NVQ Level 3) and Tier 2 ASD Awareness for Post-Primary Professionals. We are all passionate about getting children into the outdoors and reconnecting with nature. We want to promote wellbeing and fitness through play in nature and aim to bridge the gap from screen time to green time. Activities can include den building, nature trails, nature art and games. The sessions are held on privately owned woodland only a 5 minute drive from Limavady town (directions will be given when booking a place). Roe Valley Nature Kids is a member of Northern Ireland Forest School Association and has been awarded a small grant from The Honourable Irish Society. We've been running summer sessions since 2019 as well as some sessions on Saturdays and during midterm break. We have also provided After Schools sessions in the past. We currently operate seasonally and close over the winter months.
