Sloths ESU 🦥 Sloths ESU is an Explorer Scout Unit for 14–18 year olds in Waltham Forest. We meet Bi-Weekly for outdoor adventures, skills, camps, and community projects.

🌙 District Night Hike Adventure! 🥾🌌

Over the weekend, some of our Sloths took on an incredible challenge, joining the District Explorers Night Hike! 🧭

Setting off at 21:00 and walking through the night, they pushed through to reach their end point in the early morning hours, showing true determination, teamwork, and spirit! 💪

A huge thanks to our fellow adventurers from , ESU , and the Young Leader Unit for making it such a fantastic experience.

Well done to everyone who took part, you’ve definitely earned a well-deserved rest! 💤👏

Explorers Space Activity Badge - Mission Update!

Yesterday, our Explorers launched into an exciting session as they worked towards their new Space Activity Badge!

Each group took turns completing two big challenges:
• Mars Rover Control: Using only cameras to guide their RC car “rovers” through a tricky obstacle course — just like a real ground control team on Mars! No peeking allowed!
• Space Art Showcase: From poems and models to a rap and even a stunning painted canvas, our Explorers let their creativity soar, sharing all kinds of space-themed masterpieces.

We ended the night with a hilarious “space suit” challenge — trying to open chocolate bars and complete tasks while wearing “space gear” (bike helmets and oven mitts) without taking them off. Definitely harder than it sounds!

A fantastic effort from everyone — your problem-solving, creativity, and sense of fun were truly out of this world!

Do you believe in empowering young people with skills for life? Sloths Explorer Scout Unit is on the lookout for enthusiastic, friendly adults to help support our amazing young people on their journey.

Whether you can lend a hand Bi-weekly, monthly, or just now and then – there’s a place for you in our team. No prior experience with Scouts needed – just a sense of humour, a willingness to get stuck in, and a bit of time to spare.

It’s all about making a difference, learning new things, and having fun along the way.
