Ball progress……. Baxter seems to know the word drop, he may have been pretending to not know it before or he learnt it very quickly…… eh who needs two balls when your a walking genius!! Baxter not me 😂😂😂😂

Well it’s a wet Welsh day here at Cymru control…..

Girls have settled well and getting used to daily life. They are going to spend a couple of days in our amazing fosters house to delve deeper into their house manners. So far we have found mum is more reactive than her daughter, cats are to be chased. They bark when being left for 5 mins before settling down. They don’t like being the one left…. Whichever one is with you is fine but the one left barks. We try to walk separately to see behaviours. They are ALWAYS better alone! They LOVE kids and fuss.

Both girls are being spayed on Thesday so we will update you how it all goes x

✨Nellie & Nancy Update ✨

Nellie and Nancy have been to the vet today - they have both had full health checks including vaccinations, worming etc.

As seems to be standard for dogs coming in to us, Nancy has calcium crystals in her urine and will need to go on a special diet ordered for her - she has a different type of calcium crystal to Beattie, this time it's Calcium Oxalate crystals, she is currently quite uncomfortable and is squatting and straining a lot so has been given a course of Metacam. Nancy has also had a blood panel run.

Nellie has some yeast growth in her ear that also needs some attention.

Otherwise, both girls seem to be in pretty good shape, and are at healthy weights and have good teeth so no extractions needed, though they will have a scale and polish when they are spayed in due course.

Below is a breakdown of all of the treatments received today.

We just wanted to say a huge Thank you to you all for all your very kind donations and continued support for the work we do
And a massive Thank you to all of our volunteers too.
We could not do any of this without every single one of you lovely folks.
We will of course always have continuing vet bills, and other occurring costs with transport, dog food, etc, We do our utmost to make sure every Border Terrier that comes into our rescue has the best care possible. And that always starts with a Vet check no matter of their age or their circumstances.
It's the first thing we do! 💙
They quite often require
Spays, dentals, vaccinations, diagnosis for UTI's
Urinary and bladder crystals, Cushings and Gallbladder Mucocele and Diabetes to name a few.
We are always looking for ways to fundraise so please do keep an eye out for those.
The girls are booked in for their spays and wee samples for UTI's and crystals have been taken 🤞

The girls have had their first night here. . They did bark a lot and we got up at first light to sort them out, like 3 this morning 😂😂😂

They will need time to decompress and become accustomed to their new routine and surroundings.

They have had such a big change and not really sure how much they have seen especially the younger girl. Lovely friendly girls tho and lovely type of border.

New rescues

sadly these two have come to us due to a relationship breakdown. Everyones lives have changed such as work and there is little time for them now. The owner really didn’t want to part with them but is doing what she believes is in their best interest.

Nancy 7 - smaller girl

Mum and daughter, they can be barky on leads but we will test them with the usual and see how we get on. We knew these ladies were coming so have a spay booked in for the 16th for both. They will be having the usual urine test and check ups at the vet to see how their general health is.

Two together is going to be expensive as we all know with the spays likely being just under the £700 mark for the two. We will also have their routine tests done and pray we don’t have dentals to do. Teeth look ok but we will pick that up on their check ups.

Wet days today - Baxter met some more ‘strangers’ today and was fine. He loves a game of tug! Someone will be very lucky to get this lad x
