Some people were asking about Baxter’s muzzle type . Sorry I couldn’t find the comment to respond to.

And before anyone slates muzzles they have their uses and are needed on ferries etc so chill 🙂

Beattie Update

She’s doing well and brighter this morning.

Calcium crystals are the issue for us…. They haven’t reduced at all so vets want to up her dose of tablets for 14 days, then we would retest urine. If no change we have to run a specialist blood test to measure her calcium levels. Lots of things can cause the crystals it can be complex issues and it can also be simple things. We have discussed with the vet and decided to run the blood test on Friday to reduce time that Beattie is sat waiting to go to her new home. The test can take several days to come back so we would rather make a start asap.

So Beatties treatment will continue. We endeavour to make sure that when our dogs go to their new homes we have explored all treatments and options and owners know what they have to deal with long term if there is anything. We will keep you posted with her progress.

Beattie is back home. Sadly her op didn’t go quite as smoothly as expected. She lost more blood than normal. This means she’s quieter than after normal spays with my vet’s, she has a bigger incision, she will have more bruising than normal and need more TLC.

Sadly also her mamory tumours haven’t been removed but the vets are hopefull they are hormonal and not anything else. She also didn’t get flushed out for her crystals as had been through enough. Sadly it means that if the mamory tumours don’t disappear in the next few weeks they will need removal…. This will result in more vets bills 😢

We also potentially have two more girls arriving Sunday who need spaying and potential dentals. More to come on them…..

Mona update!

Mona here in the middle next to Hugo. Living a lovely life close by to the rescue. She has fitted in great. Dexter is indoors or in the shade I assume as his mobility isn’t great.

She’s doing great 😊 in the best care with Anne and Malcolm x
