Community Wheels Community Wheels is a transport service aimed at those residents without the means or ability to travel, covering North and central Herefordshire.

Community Wheels is a transport service aimed at those residents without the means or ability to travel. We have a team of over 40 DBS (previously called the Criminal Records Bureau or CRB check) checked volunteer drivers who use their own vehicles to take you to your destination. We cover the North and Central Herefordshire part of the Travel Links county network. To use the service, clients must live within our catchment area and be struggling to access transport. We have a team of caring volunteer drivers who give their time for free. There is a small charge for using the service. Are you a wheelchair user? We can help you too! We have wheelchair accessible vehicles for those who may need one, please ask us for more details. For inquiries and bookings please call:

Office opening hours are Monday to Friday 9.00am till 2.30 p.m. A minimum of 48 hours notice is required when booking - however in case of emergency bookings please call us anyway and we will see if we can help. We are always looking for volunteer drivers!! If you are interested in volunteering or know somebody that may be - please call us!

Good morning to you all on this chilly Thursday,
We had a wonderful time yesterday evening at Hereford Cathedral with our lovely CW volunteers being finalists in Hereford Times Community Awards 2026. The event was so vibrant, in such a beautiful setting, and a true celebration of so many incredible people, organisations and charities who make a real difference to our communities. Well done to all of them πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
Although our volunteers did not win the final each and every one of them should realise the amazing contribution they make to their local community. Getting through to the final is acknowledgement of all they do, which isn't just about transport. It is about creating connections and often friendships, reducing isolation, keeping people independent and doing what they need and want to do. Our volunteers offer a vital lifeline for many.
Many congratulations to the winners of the 'Community Project or Group Award' Lee's Place and also to our fellow finalist Hereford and Worcester Dyslexia Association, Hereford Workshop.
Thank you so much to everyone for your support and kind words. We really do appreciate it!πŸ™‚

Our brilliant Community Wheels volunteers have been selected as finalists in the 'Best Community Project or Group' category in the Hereford Times Community Awards 2026.
The awards ceremony is tomorrow evening at Hereford Cathedral and we are so excited! πŸ˜ƒ
We will let you know the result tomorrow and well done to every single CW volunteer, this is well deserved recognition of all you do.

Hello all,
We wanted to share some good news with you all 😊 The charity bingo night on the 4th of September at Leominster Sports and Social Club, raised a massive £2,025 for Community Wheels.
We would like to thank everyone who came along and supported CW so generously.
Thank you, too, to everyone who donated prizes and helped to make the evening such a success. An amazing result!

As we head towards the Easter bank holiday weekend we wanted to let you know that the Community Wheels office will be closed on Good Friday, the 3rd and Easter Monday the 6th of April.

A quick update on the opening times for the Community Wheels Booking Line. The line is now open from 8.30am until 2.30pm, Monday to Friday although we are closed on the bank holidays.

Hello all,
As we head towards the festive season we wanted to let everyone know our office closure dates for over Christmas and new year period. πŸŽ„
The CW office will close at 2.30pm on Tuesday the 23rd of December and reopen on Monday the 5th of January 2026.
If you need to get in touch during this time please leave an answerphone message and we will contact you as soon as possible on our return to the office on the 5th!
We would like to wish all of you a very merry Christmas and a happy and peaceful new year, whatever you are getting up to.
We would also like to thank every single one of our amazing volunteers. Community Wheels would not exist if it wasn't for your continued kindness, generousity and support. Thank you so much!
