Leominster In Bloom We are a friendly community group who provide floral displays to enhance Leominster for the local community and visitors.

Our efforts have instilled pride, a sense of belonging and a strong community spirit, evident in our 8 consecutive Gold Heart Awards. We undertake projects to improve our town and pride ourselves on our blooms, the support of our community and the sponsorship of local businesses. Leominster In Bloom is at Leominster Festival today and we have so much for kids of any age (1-100) to do.

Our Treasure Hunt is just 50p a go and you can win a whole treasure chest of sweeties. The Hook a Duck, colouring and Splat the Rat are free activates. We have craft kits at just 50p and a guess the name of the wild and ferocious tiger for just 50p. Or just pop by and say hello.

What a treat it was last night to welcome Tamsin Westhorpe from Stockton Bury Gardens, who shared her passion, knowledge and enthusiasm for all things gardening. 🌿🌸

We're delighted to say that, thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, we raised £260 for Tamsin's chosen charity, Herefordshire Growing Point.

We also enjoyed hearing from Cath Baker, who gave us an Grange Courtdate on proposed plans for a Community Gardens Project in Leominster.

A huge thank you to our wonderful speakers, Craig and the team at Grange Court, our amazing Leominster in Bloom volunteers, and of course our fantastic audience for making it such an enjoyable and successful evening.

Together, you help make our community bloom! 🌼

So here they are, the friendly, hard working Bloomers who came out of hiding to pose for a picture. Glorious creatures for sure.

Well that was just a bit of fun, but we do thank volunteers Anne, Helena and Jan for planting 100 yellow rattle plants within the Sydonia Nut Grove wild flower area. It’s looking fabulous, strange how only one half of the planting has poppy’s this year.

The plants were sourced from Peter the Bee and Friends, excellent service, and the final amount from our Herefordshire Community Foundation grant went towards paying for them. Thank you for your support.

I’d heard that today there may be some unusual wildlife activity in the Sydonia Nut Grove area.

I cautiously approached and was lucky enough to catch sight of three of the rare and exotic creatures called Bloomers. They can be seen here in their natural habitat, heads down working away.
To be continued….
