20 Years ago I moved to Leigh on sea. it was a totally fresh start. Neither did I know what a jewel of town it was as gradually I discovered so many delightful shops and artisans, places to go and places to eat, a great local music scene and so much more. It took a long time to find these things as there wasn't a 'one-stop sh

op' to seek it all out. Especially when I had children and decided to become self-employed, so ... was born. Gradually in my spare time I began networking and sharing local links on my website for free. I opened the group and encouraged locals to share the passion for all the hard-working traders in the town and discovered so much more. We have virtually everything we need on our doorstep. Live local, shop local, share local was the aim and it has grown immensely, bringing on board people with the same passion. I hope you like the ethos and the content and hope it makes it easier for you to find the jems of the town and grow to love our town and keep local small traders alive. I do this all in my spare time and it would be great if you could share and post your wares to let people know you are out there... and encourage others as our town is thriving and buzzing with interesting people and what they have to offer. ❤️ RED has always been my power colour.

Back in the 80s, it was the lipstick I wore when I wanted to feel bold, confident and unstoppable. Today, it’s the colour I reach for most when I paint.

This fashion illustration was inspired by - and his incredible statement look – a dramatic red cape, wide-leg trousers and the kind of confidence that turns fashion into art.

I’m loving this new chapter of expressive fashion illustration, where colour tells the story before a single word is spoken. Red isn’t quiet. Red isn’t subtle. Red arrives.

And honestly… so do the people who wear it.

Over the years, Love Leigh on Sea has grown into something far bigger than I ever expected. What started as sharing local views, creativity and places I genuinely loved has slowly become a trusted platform with an engaged local audience of over 10k people.

But I think sometimes people only see the final post or reel — not the years behind it. The filming, editing, replying, consistency, showing up, maintaining the page, building community trust and carefully curating content that positively showcases our area.

I absolutely love supporting local independent businesses, creatives and hospitality venues and that will always remain at the heart of the page. But as the platform continues to grow, I’m also recognising that creative work, audience-building and local promotion hold real value too.

In many ways, local creator platforms now work similarly to local magazines or newspapers — creating visibility, storytelling and exposure for businesses through an audience built organically over many years.

So while I’ll always continue sharing genuine community moments and places I personally love, I’m also beginning to step more intentionally into collaborations, partnerships and creative promotional work moving forward ✨

A little wander around Plumbs Cottage today 🤍
One of the oldest little buildings in Old Leigh, full of seaside charm, history and tiny treasures tucked into every corner. Originally a fisherman’s cottage dating back centuries, it’s now the sweetest spot to browse for gifts and soak up a little piece of Old Leigh’s character.

And of course… I couldn’t leave empty handed ✨🐚
Pop on c2c Rail and exit at Leigh on Sea Station. Take a stroll past the cockle sheds and carry on to the cobbled streets and find it near The Hatch cafe!
