At the end of Volunteer Week 2026, I would like to say an enormous thank you to all the leaders at Sileby Scout Group who have given up their weekend to make our group camp happen. I might have had 'The Plan' but it wouldn't have been put into action without all your hard work and enthusiasm. Thanks so much to Dave, Janet, Russ, Rachel, Tori, Kathryn, Emily and Jasmine.

Thanks to The Green Place for letting Sileby Cubs and Scouts borrow your grass area to practise putting up tents ready for our group camp in a few weeks.

Whittling and carving time. Soap carving for Cubs. Carrot spoons and potato cups for Scouts. Some of the cups even had handles!

Cubs and Scouts have been first aid trained over the last two weeks. They can do CPR, control bleeding and put an unconscious casualty into the recovery position. Thank you Felicity Rose Spence for running the sessions for us.

Today is Founder's Day. It's the day when Scouts across the world pause to remember Robert Baden Powell, born on this day in 1857 -the man who started it all.
It's a day for reflection, gratitude and thinking about what scouting really means to you.

Sileby Beaver Scouts visited the High Street delivering cards and wishing all a Merry Christmas.
As a surprise bonus several business donated sweets and chips to the youngsters.
