It’s time for another sustainable swap from our ‘Paint The Town Green’ art trail! Next up, we’ve got Rainbows on Sherrard Street.

Rainbows is a wonderful charity supporting babies, children and young people in hospices, hospitals and at home across the East Midlands.

By buying second-hand from Rainbows you are giving pre-loved items a new home whilst supporting local families who rely on the essential care provided by the charity.

The team at Rainbows are a nifty bunch - always finding ways to upcycle donations to give them the best chance of finding a loving home. When we gave them a visit, store manager Georgie showed us her latest creation which featured an old scrabble set transformed into beautiful jewellery!

Next time you want to update your wardrobe or need a new read, why not give Rainbows a visit?

This year’s theme is all about how we can swap together for good! To celebrate, we’re sharing how local businesses taking part in the ‘Paint The Town Green’ art trail can help us all to make sustainable swaps.

Up first is one of Melton’s newest shops, Murphy’s Munchies / Santiago Trains located on Bowley Court. Whether you’re a train enthusiast or dog lover looking for natural treats for your pooch, these two local businesses make it easy for you to swap to shopping locally.

Not only is shopping locally a more sustainable way to spend your money but it helps our local community and economy too!

So, next time you’re in Melton, why not pop down to Murphy’s Munchies / Santiago Trains and say hello to the lovely Nick and Kelly 💚
