The Leicester Live Music Map is now live.

Big thanks to Dr. Patrycja Rozbicka from the Live Music Mapping Project for supporting the session and wider project and PPL PRS for hosting

It’s still early stages, but the potential for this is massive. What started as mapping live music venues has already opened bigger conversations around culture, heritage, infrastructure, opportunity, education and the future of music in the region.

Check out the map and if you know any venues missing, send them the form in the comments to be added.

There’s a lot in the Creative Industries Skills Audits Summary Report that feels very familiar if you work anywhere across the creative sector.

One thing that stood out: creative industries don’t just need creative talent anymore. The sector is increasingly looking for people who can combine creativity, tech, communication and business skills all at once.

Definitely worth a read if you work in creative, culture, digital or education spaces

This Thursday just gone, 10 young orchestral musicians from Leicestershire Schools Symphony orchestra played side by side with the Philharmonia - with approx 1000 primary aged children in the audience.
The world renowned professional orchestra have a residency in Leicester and to play with players of this calibre was an amazing opportunity.

Some of our Leics Connect students were treated to free guest list tickets so they could see the Philharmonia live in concert - for many of them their first ever experience of seeing a full size live professional orchestra.

A good day for Leicester and music education!
