Phase 2 of UK Artist Touring fund is now open!

The FAC’s UK Artist Touring (UKAT) fund aims to protect the UK’s cultural infrastructure, deliver renewed vitality in the grassroots, strengthen the pipeline of future talent, and ensure that genre, regional and cultural diversity can flourish while also supporting the development of new and existing audiences, so music can thrive sustainably across the UK.

The UKAT fund is open to artists from all backgrounds, all parts of the UK, all genres and all career stages, and for phase 2, they have partnered with the Northern Music Export Office (NMEO), which will increase UKAT support for artists based in in the North East, Tees Valley and West Yorkshire.

BAPAM’s free performing arts medicine clinic in Leicester is open at PPL PRS.

The free clinic, kindly hosted at PPL PRS, is for performing arts professionals, teachers and students who have an injury or illness that is impacting their ability to work or study.

Free training for Music Promoters and Music Venue Staff! Tonic Music are delighted to announce a new online package of training exclusively for Music Promoters and Music Venue Staff, supported by The Christopher Meredith Foundation.

The package includes a two-day Mental Health First Aid course (accredited by MHFA England) and a half-day Su***de First Aid Lite course (accredited by Royal Society of Public Health) - this amounts to 20 hours of learning. On the 18th July, the International Guitar Foundation is holding its annual Guitar Summit festival at Kings Place London, featuring a lecture on “Women’s careers in music: Research and Representation” by Vick Bain, founder of the The F List for Music

The session will examine how inequality operates across individual careers, sector practices and wider society.

The Leicester Live Music Map is now live.

Big thanks to Dr. Patrycja Rozbicka from the Live Music Mapping Project for supporting the session and wider project and PPL PRS for hosting

It’s still early stages, but the potential for this is massive. What started as mapping live music venues has already opened bigger conversations around culture, heritage, infrastructure, opportunity, education and the future of music in the region.
