What can we learn from the past?

Recently, young people from Leicester schools sat down with local community elders to hear first-hand stories about the Windrush Generation and explore the long, complex, and undeniable relationship between the Caribbean and Britain.

These conversations are opportunities to preserve lived experiences, and help future generations to understand the people and stories that have shaped our communities.

A huge thanks to Leicester Libraries and the formidable Marcia Brown on this meaningful Windrush project, helping to create spaces where stories are shared, listened to, and remembered.

Thank you to everyone who took part and made these workshops so special

We’re still buzzing from our Windrush Tea Party! 💛✨

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us, danced with us, shared delicious food, and honoured the incredible Windrush Generation. Your presence made the day truly unforgettable.

A special shout-out to all of our amazing performers, stall holders, volunteers, and technical crew—thank you for your hard work and dedication in making the event such a success.

An extra special thank you to our wonderful host, Annette Fagon, and to our special guests Sandi and Sandra for bringing so much laughter, warmth, and joy to the celebration.

And the biggest shout-out of all goes to the elders who joined us. Your stories, resilience, and legacy continue to inspire us, and it was an honour to celebrate with you.

Thank you for making this year’s Windrush Tea Party so memorable. Until next time! 💚❤️💛
