The Army Cadet Force (ACF) is a voluntary youth organisation for boys and girls between the ages of 12 (and in year 8 at school) and 18. Apart from a small team of full time employees, the adults who staff the ACF are volunteers; officers all hold the Queen's Commission, although they

have no call-up commitment, the remaining adult instructors wear ranks ranging from Sergeant Instructor to Regimental Sergeant Major Instructor. This is the OFFICIAL group for Leicestershire, Northamptonshire & Rutland Army Cadet Force

Mocktails and Morals 🍹⭐

Cadet NCOs from across LNR came together for a focused development package designed to strengthen leadership, responsibility, and understanding of ACF Values & Standards.
Through a series of interactive sessions, cadets explored what it really means to be an NCO; looking at how core values underpin the LEADERS code, and how leadership is demonstrated through everyday actions, not just rank. Group discussions highlighted key themes including role modelling, maintaining standards, and making a positive difference within their detachments.
A dedicated session on Diversity & Inclusion challenged cadets to think about responsibility beyond leadership tasks—focusing on creating an environment where everyone feels respected, valued, and included.
The weekend wasn’t all classroom-based. An evening social event gave cadet NCOs the chance to relax and build stronger connections through a series of informal, engaging activities—proving that leadership is as much about cohesion as it is about command.
A strong weekend of learning, reflection, and teamwork—setting the standard for the next generation of ACF leaders.

What did you do this weekend?

LNR Cadet NCOs spent the weekend at Yardley Chase, developing the leadership skills needed to take the next steps in their Army Cadets journey — equipping them with tools that will be invaluable throughout their lives.

Through practical activities including fieldcraft and first aid, cadets focused not just on what to do, but how to lead and support others through these activities. The weekend also included important classroom sessions on leadership, diversity and inclusion, reinforcing the values expected of cadet leaders.

A valuable and rewarding weekend for all involved
