Thursday at our Hot Food Hub and today’s menu was a favourite ❤️

🍔 Chicken burgers

🍰 Home-baked cakes

A hot meal, a friendly face and a place where people know they’re welcome.

Today, we also heard from Jay, who is helping us appeal for donations of old smartphones 📱🙏

For many of our service users, having access to a smartphone is no longer a luxury — it’s a necessity. It can mean applying for housing, accessing benefits, managing a bank account, attending appointments, keeping in touch with support workers and staying connected to the world around them.

Digital exclusion is a real issue for many people facing homelessness and hardship. An old phone sitting in a drawer could become a lifeline for someone trying to rebuild their life.

If you have a working smartphone that you no longer use, please consider donating it. Together, we can help ensure nobody is left behind in an increasingly digital world ❤️

Thursdays at our Hot Food Hub and today’s meal was a beautiful chicken pilau, kindly paid for by one of our generous donors ❤️🍛

Alongside the hot food, we also had a selection of cakes and pastries 🍰🥐

And while today’s hub was running, prep was already underway for tomorrow’s lunchtime sandwiches — because the work never really stops when people rely on these services 💛

For many who attend, this is more than food.
It’s routine, warmth and knowing someone cares enough to show up for them.

Another busy and heart-warming day at our Weekly Hot Food Hub ❤️

Today, a generous donor kindly paid for a beautiful meal of:

And for dessert, we had a proper selection of homemade treats:

🌰 Almond cake

As always, our amazing barber was also down giving up his time to provide free haircuts and shaves 💈

A quick look inside our store room today — and we’re putting out an appeal for some much-needed foodbank items 🙏

We’re currently in need of:
🥣 Cereals
🥫 Tinned meats
🍜 Pot Noodles
🍪 Biscuits
🍫 Chocolate bars

These are the kinds of everyday items that help us support people who may be struggling to get through the week.

For many individuals and families who use our foodbank, quick meals and snacks like these can make a real difference — especially when money is tight and cupboards are empty.

We’ve got donation bins ready to go… but they need homes.

Right now, we have spare foodbank collection bins that can be placed in businesses, organisations, colleges and workplaces across the city.

These bins make it easy for staff, customers and the wider community to donate food and essentials — turning everyday spaces into places of real impact.

Every item collected helps us support individuals and families who rely on our foodbank during difficult times.

All we need is a space and a willing team.
We’ll handle the rest.
