After18 After 18 is a charity for unaccompanied young people aged 13-25 in Leicester. Through a broad progra Once a young person turns 18 they face many challenges.

After18 was founded in 2013 in response to the number of unaccompanied children in Leicester who were asking for support. Children as young as 11 have been travelling to the UK alone (without their family) fleeing war and persecution in their home country. As children can not be returned to an unsafe place they are allowed to remain in the UK while they are a child. Many are expected to return to

unfamiliar cities in their country while those allowed to stay must learn how to adjust to living in the UK. After18 works to support young people to transition into adulthood and prepare for their future. We aim to be a trusted source of information for young people – whatever their country of origin – to find out about life in the UK. Are you passionate about making a difference for young people?

After18 is a small charity making a big difference. Each year, we support over 200 unaccompanied children and young refugees, with needs-led education and wellbeing activities.

We’re looking for new members to join our dedicated Board of Trustees! As a Trustee, you'll play an essential role in shaping our vision, supporting our mission, and ensuring we continue to create safe, supportive, and inspiring spaces where young people can thrive.

This is a voluntary role.
Commitment: 4-6 meetings per year.

We welcome diverse perspectives and lived experience.

Desirable: we are particularly looking for volunteers with knowledge/experience in any of the following areas: the voluntary sector, fundraising, safeguarding, governance.

We are hiring!

After18 is a small charity making a big difference. Each year, we support over 200 unaccompanied children and young refugees, with needs-led education and wellbeing activities.

We’re looking for a Peer Support Caseworker to join our caring and committed team.

In this role, the successful candidate will be a friendly and welcoming presence at our Monday football sessions, working with our partner, Leicester City in the Community . You’ll meet young asylum seekers and refugees, help identify any extra support they might need, and connect them with other After18 services.

We’re looking for candidates who have personal experience of seeking asylum.

If you’re passionate about helping young refugees and want to make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you!

For this year's art trip, our young artists enjoyed a wellbeing walk along a sculpture trail. Immersed in nature, they were asked to reflect on natural forms and take inspiration to develop their creative practice.

They had a fantastic time bringing their pieces together, and they finished off the day with their own curated exhibition!
