The Leeds Local Offer coordinates monthly drop‑in sessions to give parents and carers the opportunity to speak face to face with local services and access clear information and advice about SEND support available across Leeds.

On Wednesday 1 April, a drop‑in session was held at Carr Manor Community Hub, where it was encouraging to see so many families attending to speak directly with services, ask questions, and explore the support available to them.

The Leeds Local Offer drop‑ins provide a welcoming space for families to connect with professionals, share experiences, and gain guidance in one accessible location.

We were delighted to welcome Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper to the Community Hub on Monday, alongside members of the Labour Party, local councillors, and community members.

It was a fantastic opportunity for the Hub to reinforce its role as a space for connection and conversation in our community.

Following the event, Yvette met with Lucie Lakin, Principal of Carr Manor Community School, who provided a tour of the Hub and shared how the space is being used to support both our young people and the wider community .

We are proud to be able to open our doors to events that bring people together and make meaningful use of our space.

We were delighted to host last week’s Leeds Learning Alliance Leaders’ Breakfast, welcoming colleagues from across the city for a morning of collaboration and shared thinking.

It was fantastic to see our large conference space in action, bringing together leaders from education, business, and the community sector to connect and form new partnerships.

The Hub is designed to support exactly this kind of work. Alongside our conference space, we offer a range of flexible facilities including 1:1 meeting rooms, activity spaces, and a welcoming café; it's ideal for everything from training and events to smaller meetings and community sessions.

We were pleased to host the Department for Education for the Every Child Achieving and Thriving SEND Reform Engagement Event. The meeting saw parents, carers, professionals, and stakeholders come together to help shape the future of the SEND system.
