🐾 Meet Bear 🐾

We’re so excited to introduce the newest member of the Time for Young People family 💜🧡

This is Bear, our official mascot and your new companion for all things mental health.

Each week, Bear will be sharing pawsitive messages 🐶✨ — from simple tips to support your wellbeing, to gentle reminders that you’re not alone.

Life can feel overwhelming sometimes, but together we can take it one step at a time… with Bear right by your side 🐾
Keep an eye out for his weekly check-ins 👀
Because even small steps can make a big difference 💛

This Pride Month, we’re proud to say: *you belong here.* 🌈💜

Our young people's mental health drop-ins are safe, welcoming spaces where everyone can be their true self—heard, supported, and valued just as they are.

No matter your identity or story, you’re not alone. Together, we create a space filled with kindness, understanding, and care—because everyone deserves to feel safe in their mind and in who they are. 🏳️‍🌈✨

✨ When things feel overwhelming, young people have powerful ways to cope. ✨

Last month we asked some young people to share the strategies that help them manage stress — from taking a moment to breathe, to reaching out for support, to finding calm in the things they love.  💜

There’s no “one-size-fits-all” approach to mental health. What matters is finding what works for you and knowing you’re not alone.

If you’re struggling today, try one small step — it really can make a difference. 🌱

Safe. Diverse. Warm. Welcoming. 🧡💜

These are just some of the words our team used to describe our drop-in service for young people aged 11–18.

A place to be yourself, feel heard, and access support in a space that truly cares.

🧠 A small anxiety hack from Time for Young People 💭

Your thoughts can feel really loud sometimes.

Try saying:
“I’m having the thought that…”
or
“I notice I’m feeling…”

This helps create space between you and what you’re thinking, so it feels less overwhelming.

You can even write it down.
You’re not your thoughts—you’re the one noticing them.

Not sure if you should come down to our drop-in?
A lot of lads feel like that at first.

You might think it’s not serious enough… or that you should just deal with it yourself. But if something’s been on your mind, that’s enough.
You don’t have to talk straight away.
You don’t have to explain everything.
You don’t have to have it all figured out.

It’s just a chilled space where you can show up, sit down, and take it at your own pace.

No pressure. No judgement. Just real support when you’re ready.
Pop in and see how it feels 👊

🧊 A small anxiety hack from Time for Young People

Need a fast reset? Try something cold.

Hold an ice cube or splash cold water on your face.

The cold can slow your heart rate and help your body come out of “fight or flight” mode.

Sometimes small, simple things can make a big difference.

Growing strong, just like this positivi-tree 🌳💛

Created from a young person’s favourite colours, this tree is a reminder that happiness can be built from the little things—moments, memories, and feelings that bring us joy.

Every child deserves to feel supported, heard, and hopeful. Together, we can help nurture brighter days and stronger roots.
