At My Place the safety and wellbeing of our young people is our highest priority.

As part of our commitment to helping reduce knife crime and create safer living environments, we are replacing traditional pointed kitchen knives with blunt-ended knives across all of our properties.

Today, 20 of our young people came together for the weekly football session in the park - our biggest number!! ⚽️😍

We definitely needed cooling down afterwards and enjoyed refreshing ice lollies – the perfect treat on such a warm day! 🍦😎

It’s great to see our young people staying active, building friendships, and making positive memories together. 🏆

We were honoured to be able to support the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Charity and Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust and donate towards their new bereavement suite. Something that is very close to our hearts ♥️

Our young people that came along were truly inspired and are wanting to pursue careers in nursing and midwifery.

Please join us in saying a huge thank you to My Place Yorkshire for their incredibly generous £10,000 donation towards our Maternity Bereavement Appeal ✨

Last week, we were delighted to welcome Lisa, Abbie, and My Place residents Sowda, Gebrela and Samira to see our current maternity bereavement facilities and hear more about our plans for the new bereavement suite.

During the visit, Gemma Puckett, Assistant Director of Nursing, and Michelle Jones, Consultant Midwife, spoke about the current limitations of the existing space, including the lack of natural light and limited family facilities, and shared how support like this will help us create a more peaceful, comforting and dignified environment for families experiencing baby loss.

This incredible donation will help us move one step closer to creating a dedicated space where families can spend precious time together, make memories, and receive compassionate care during the most difficult moments imaginable.

We’ve been a little quiet lately — it’s been a very busy time supporting our young people — but we wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a happy, healthy, and positive New Year for 2026 🎉
