App update day...on a Sunday! 🤪

The biggest update since we've launched...

📍Explore our new venue map, where every pin and cluster leads you to a world of possibilities. Sponsored listings shine a light on amazing organizations doing incredible work

📌 Noticeboard refinement! Posting is simpler for a limited time: 1 credit covers 14 days, with the extras included. Support & advice notices go nationwide, so good guidance isn’t stuck behind a postcode.

📝 Tell us what you think - Provide feedback is now an in-app form (you can stay anonymous if you want).

🛠️ Plus the usual polish - smoother tabs, clearer FAQs/terms, and fixes so screens behave themselves.

How we started → we met at work a few years ago and instantly became friends over a shared love of heavy metal and cats. We both still have those day jobs now! Working full time and being carers of SEND children is always a juggle but we are so passionate about SEN Village 📈

Something surprising about SEN Village → the idea was born on a lunch break after Eve explained she would use a matching service to meet other parents like her. SEN Village was a boredom buster for Alex one cold January weekend and now it’s become this wonderful safe space for SEND carers like us 💜

Behind the scenes → both of us having ADHD means we have approx 3866 unread voice notes to each other with to do lists, and we get too excited to listen to them all. We’ve got so many cool ideas for this app and this community. Watch this space 👀

We are here to help make SEND parenting feel less isolating and more inclusive. Come and join the village.

No one prepares you for having a child with special needs or disabilities.

No one prepares you for how you feel when they miss milestones.

No one prepares you for how they don’t keep up with their peers.

No one prepares you for the assessments and tests and scans and X-rays and appointments.

No one prepares you for the diagnosis.

Then no one prepares you for once you have answers.

This is why SEN Village exists. Carers of people with SEND needs a shoulder to cry on. A community who just “gets it”. A community that won’t offer unsolicited advice. A community to trust because they have the experience and knowledge you crave.

I’m lucky to have an amazing village around me; medical teams, family and friends, work colleagues, peers, and an amazing CTO who has brought this vision to life so others can find their village.

Join us for a fun day open to all the family! Our CommEd Support team member Judith will be on hand to facilitate the event and ensure everyone has a lovely time together 💚
