Hailey took abortion pills, after receiving them in the post, expecting it to be straightforward.

Instead she faced the most difficult experience of her life and faced it alone.

What followed were feelings of loss, anger, and isolation.

Through support from Life's Helpline, Hailey began to process what she had been through and found a way forward.

Hailey's story highlights the vital service Life's Helpline provides for women (and men) who desperately need support following loss, including loss through abortion.

Nick, who took part in our Pilgrim's Progress to Rome trek in September, said this about Life.

Our entire mission is to 'do' things to meet our clients where they are and give them what they need in their moment or moments of need.

Earlier this month, Slough House opened its doors for a fantastic Open Day – bringing together local organisations, services and supporters to see more of what we do.

And those connections are already making a difference.

Following the Open Day, our clients will now benefit from weaning packages, books and garden toys kindly offered by the local Baby Bank, ongoing support from the Children’s Family Hub, and visits from the Health Visiting team.

It’s a good reminder of why building strong local relationships matters. The more connected we are with our community, the more opportunities, practical help and ongoing support we can bring to the women and families living in our houses.
