As part of Volunteers’ Week UK, we want to say a huge thank you to all of our incredible volunteers who give their time to support others and make such a difference in our communities.

A special mention goes to Morgan, one of our amazing Digital Champions, who volunteers across not just one, but THREE community hub locations in Taunton.

When Morgan first started volunteering, he already had outstanding technical knowledge, but meeting lots of new people and building confidence socially didn’t always come easily. We now regularly receive fantastic feedback about how brilliant Morgan is, how much his confidence has increased, and how many people he has helped.

One story in particular shows just how powerful volunteering can be. A 92-year-old lady came to one of the sessions after spending years isolated following the loss of her husband. Morgan helped her set up Facebook and join a local community group so she could chat with people nearby. Since then, she has made new friends and has even started going shopping again. It has genuinely changed her life.

Volunteering has changed Morgan’s life too. His confidence has grown enormously, and he is now job hunting.

We are very pleased to launch our latest new Digital Cafe, alongside the Talking Cafe in the The Purplespoon Cafe at the Great Western Hotel, Taunton

This will run every 1st Monday of the month 10-12
