𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗿𝘂𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀?
This was the question that guided a workshop we recently organised at The Centre @ Halton where people highlighted underused green spaces in the village, a lack of areas for people to gather outside, and limited connection between upper and lower Halton.
💡 After thinking about how these issues could be addressed, two project ideas emerged:
1️⃣ 𝗔 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱. Locals highlighted that this would provide a natural corridor in Halton while also providing a community outdoor space.
2️⃣ 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀. Community groups, such as the scouts and the community centre, are always in need of volunteers. A village volunteer network would help these groups operate while also connecting people across the village.
Like any community event, not everyone can make it on the day.
