How lovely it was to meet with Geoff, Andy and Heather from Warden Construction this morning. They showed me a plan of the building showing all the roof that needs replacing and all the glass panels.
They are local to the North West based in Kirkham. They will be using 4 or 5 sub-contractors who are specialists to carry out the work.
They also showed me their progress against their master work plan and they are currently on schedule, but there is still a lot to do.
Heather the Social Value Manager will keep us informed of any future dates when they will be updating the public as to how the work is going on. Warden is a Community minded company and is participating with Lancaster BID. Heather is keen to liaise with local schools and groups etc.

As the original recycling service, libraries have been circulating stories and reducing waste for generations ♻️

Swapping borrowing for buying is one of the easiest ways to be more sustainable when it comes to books, not to mention the space saving 💡

Is it just me or is everyone else also interested in what the contractors are busy doing on the roof at Lancaster Library ? The library has been closed for eight weeks now, but at least we have a temporary one at The Neighbourhood Centre, Mill 14 White Cross Business Park.
To satisfy our curiosity Warden Construction, the contractors, are holding a drop in session at Lancaster Central Library tomorrow morning Wednesday 7th October between 10 and 12am. Enter via the door on New Street.
They will even be serving refreshments, but I can't guarantee that the cakes will be as good as the home made ones we used to make for the Friends of Lancaster Library's Wednesday Morning Pop-Up cafes.

A drop-in session is being held this week for anyone interested in finding out more about the work being carried out at Lancaster library.
