Sanctuary update. I am apologising for the lack of posts, pictures and news recently. We have lost 2 volunteer/Directors so do not have the capacity at the moment to do daily posts and pictures. Any messages sent will be answered in due course. The sanctuary is still functioning fully, and obviously the animals needs come before Facebook. We are hoping to do a Christmas walk, watch this space, we are also taking part in a live Nativity on 18th December.
Thank you all very much for your patience ###

Aiden and Archie, our donks francais. Thursday was a big day for them with a planned visit from the vet, dentist and farrier. The boys needed sedation for routine care that they had so desperately missed out on. Archie had razor sharp teeth which obviously had never been attended to. Aiden's teeth weren't as bad luckily.
Aiden has deformed front hooves, we don't know whether he had an accident or this is the result of neglect.
Donkeys are very stoic and will carry on until they drop dead, they need just as much care as their equine cousins, just because they 'appear' well doesn't mean they are.
