Lanark Rotary's 10 year campaign in the charitable selling of Border Biscuits each Christmas, was celebrated with a special event at the Tollhouse. Representatives of local partnering organisations joined us to share with the group how the monies raised had assisted in the good works they were all involved with.
A speech by our local MSP, Mairi McAllan highlighted the worthiness of the cause and the efforts of all. Past President of Lanark Rotary Alistair MacKintosh, explained how the idea was first conceived by the late Rotarian John Cunningham of Border Biscuits over 10 years ago and how the generosity of Border Biscuits has raised many 10's of thousands of pounds for the local Lanark organisations.
