We are looking for casual staff to help with our seaweed processing operations in May in Kyle of Lochalsh Living Wage hourly rate, and on the job training provided. Yesterday, 26th April 2023 was a momentus day for EcoCascade. We held the official launch event for our processing facility at Kyle of Lochalsh.

We are a community interest company (CIC) and we are really enjoying the support from our amazing wide and wonderful community of seaweed entrepreneurs from Scotland the rest of the UK.

In no more than 18 months we have gone from concept to operations. We have been incredibily fortunate with excellent financial support from , , and our wider community through our Crowdfunder. We have created 5.5 jobs (2 Graduate posts open - check out the website) and we have top quality machinery, optimised for processing of seaweed available for this years harvest.

And yesterday we were able to celebrate all of that with about 50 people ranging from our equipment suppliers GlenFarrow UK LTD, most of the seaweed growers, and many of the seaweed product makers.

It was a really wonderful day enforcing this positive focussed community that we are proud to be part of.

We are hiring! Firstly, we are searching for CASUAL STAFF to help with seaweed processing operations in May/June. On the job training. This is a manual job requiring work on a production line in the washing, chopping and drying of seaweed, and cleaning. We are a Fair Work First employer and offer the Living Wage for this role.

We also have 2 GRADUATE TECHNICIAN roles at Eco Cascade, for candidates who have graduated within the last 4 years. Part funded by HIE, these roles cover 2 project areas: 1. Life Cycle Analysis and 2. Traceability. Check out eco-cascade.com/job-vacancies for more details.

One project focusses on lifecycle assessment of seaweed the other on creating a digital traceabilty system. Both enable hands on experience of processing seaweed and finding best ways to do that most efficiently at scale.
