Mityana Community Development Foundation The purpose of the charity is to work in partnership with the people of Mityana and District in Uganda. Our projects include: EDUCATION>HEALTH>WATER>SCOUTING

Mityana town itself is 62km west of the capital Kampala on the shores of Lake Wamba – a 2hr drive on the main east-west highway in Uganda. The town also serves as the administrative centre for the surrounding District. The population of the town is 35,214 and the surrounding district has a population of 269,763 It is estimated that 1 in 10 is affected by HIV/Aids. About the Charity

nity Development Foundation [MCDF] started in 1999 with the first visit from UK supporters in August 2000. First registered with the Charity Commission as Mityana Community Enterprises and then renamed Mityana Community Development Foundation in 2007. The charity is also registered in Uganda as Mityana Community Development Foundation (Uganda). This Charity has been working in Mityana, Uganda for the last six years, during which time we have developed a variety of projects in conjunction with the local people. MCDF supports a number of projects which come under the following headings:
■Health
■Enterprise
■Education
■Scouting
■Community

We rely entirely on volunteers and fundraising to support our work. The work of MCDF is managed by unpaid Trustees based in the UK and Uganda
