Hi All.
I'm a master's student at Newcastle University currently undertaking my dissertation titled 'Onshore Wind Farm Developments in Rural Communities: A Just Transition or Just a Transition?'. The study's overall research aim is to understand and explain rural communities' experiences and responses to the renewable energy transition. Two case studies will be used, one being the current development of Ray Wind Farm, in order to understand how communities are experiencing and responding to a changing energy landscape in this transition to renewable energy sources.
I would really appreciate if you could take some time to fill in the below survey as part of my data collection. It should take around 10 minutes, and will hopefully provide me with some accurate evidence to explore the ways in which both current and future onshore wind developments need to attend to rural specificites if we are to successfully move towards a greener future.
Whilst undertaking this research, proposals for Ray Wind Farm II have been announced, which is very interesting. Please can I ask that answers to this survey majoratively relate to the current Ray Wind Farm, but I would be really interested to here about how Ray Wind Farm II is affecting opinions as well.
Please note that you must be 18 or over. More information on who is eligible to take part can be found on the survey introduction.
Results from this dissertation aim to offer future policy guidance towards how onshore wind farm developments can attend to rural specificites to ensure a just and successful transition for all involved.
Please be aware the survey is anonymous, however there is an option to leave a name and email/contact number at the end should you wish to be contacted for an informal interview with myself to understand more about your experiences and responses to Ray Wind Farm.
Please read the survey's ethical information carefully before starting. You may exit the survey whenever should you not wish to continue.
If you wish to contact me further regarding the study, please email me on [email protected] and I would be happy to respond.
Thank you for your participation, any help is always appreciated.
Kind regards,
Maisie Tinwell
