Celebrating the Launch of the Energy Neighbours Booklet 🎉
On Monday 27th April, we marked the launch of the Energy Neighbours booklet at Brighton Street Community Centre in Heckmondwike.
The booklet came out of a series of community sessions with the Khooshi Women’s Group — starting with honest conversations about rising energy costs and sharing practical ways to save at home. Those discussions shaped everything you see in the booklet.
A big thank you to John, the illustrator, who worked closely with the group to bring their voices and ideas to life, with support from Creative Scene.
The sessions were delivered by Energy Neighbours (TSL Kirklees) in partnership with Ravensthorpe Community Centre’s Community Champions — special thanks to Noreen, Noreela, and our community worker Habiban for supporting participants throughout.
The launch was a lovely chance to come together, reflect, and celebrate — with a relaxed morning and a much-enjoyed desi breakfast 🍳
