Well, I guess it's time to introduce ourselves...
Wynd Up Artists is a proposal for a public art project in Kirkcaldy.
We're looking to brighten up the long neglected streets (and wynds) of the Lang Toun by commissioning artists to create a series of murals and works in the town centre.
We'll be working with local artists and collaborating with local community groups to bring their ideas to life, creating colourful, vibrant works for everyone to enjoy.
Street art and murals can create a sense of community. A sense of ownership. A sense of belonging. A sense of place. They inform people about the area they're in. They say "This is who we are. This is what we're about". They can inspire and uplift. Bring hope. Raise spirits. Raise a smile.
Kirkcaldy needs all of this and more.
And that's why we've applied for funding from You Decide Kirkcaldy.
We're asking for £15,000 to create a mural trail right in the heart of town, to help attract more people down to the high street and reverse the ensh*ttification of the town.
You can vote in person tomorrow at the Adam Smith Theatre between 10am and 4pm.
Online voting goes live on Sunday and closes on Sunday 30th March.
There are loads of other amazing projects being proposed so definitely get along tomorrow if you can to find out more about them all (just don't forget to vote for us!).
