y focus is to bring these benefits to minoritised and vulnerable groups in the Kingston community, such as people experiencing learning/physical disabilities, mental health challenges, or poverty. We also offer drumming workshops for adult, children and families open to anyone interested in learning percussion in an inclusive environment. Our mission is to build an inclusive and collaborative drumming community in Kingston that fosters human interactions, empowers people, and develops their creativity, thus fighting isolation and building more cohesive, supportive, and resilient communities.

Community Drumming bringing the joy and energy of Afro Brazilian music to Kingston Carnival 2025.

This was out first parade in Kingston and what a Bang! We collaborated with different charities that Kingston Community Drumming works to bring the joy and energy of Afro-Brazilian. Our main drumming bloco consisted of around 50 drumming including adults, children, people with learning disabilities from Kingston Eco-op and support from Dendê Nation drummers. This group of drummers was precede by about 25 members of Kingston Mencap wearing Mexican ponchos and playing handheld percussion instrument, and followed by about 20 senior dancers from the Milaap Centre wearing traditional costumes from their countries of origins and shakers.

Family Drum Fun Workshops

Learn how to play a variety of percussion instruments and rhythms using fun and engaging drumming games for the whole family.

These workshops are for families; children, parents and/or grandparents will learn together how to play various percussion instruments and world rhythms as well as engage in fun drumming games that develop creativity, self expression, communication and cooperation.

Families will also have the opportunity to perform in local music event and well as in Notting Hill Carnival and Kingston Carnival.

For families with children 4-16 year old
