KRC Row to Remember

KRC Row to Remember KRC is teaming up with the Royal Star & Garter Homes to hold a joint fund raising event. It will involve rowing, running and cycling.

It will involve rowing, running and cycling – there will be the option of doing all three, two or just one of these disciplines - and is scheduled for Saturday 27th September 2014 . Raise money to support Kingston Rowing Club and The Royal Star & Garter Homes in the centenary year of the start of World War 1 – by taking part in this commemoration event. We will donate 20% of our funds raised to

The Royal Star & Garter Homes. The date is set for Saturday 27th September 2014 and the club is looking to mobilise 300 members and friends of the club, past and present to undertake the row or an equivalent challenge – to raise money for The Royal Star & Garter Homes and for our rowing club. Our vision is for as many as possible of our current rowers to get involved – and that they are joined by many crews from our illustrious past, re-forming for this special occasion. The event is structured so that people can undertake the disciplines that suit them best. The ‘units of challenge’ are:
Row Kingston Reach
Run to Hampton Court
Cycle round Richmond Park

The main concept is that people row and then either run or cycle – or do all three to complete a triathlon. However, we want friends of the club who are non-rowers to be able to participate also – either running or cycling or both. Or another possibility is that families and friends form relay teams – for example, ‘Junior’ rows, Mum cycles and Dad runs!
