🌟 BRITE Box Cooking Club at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Kingston
For almost two years, BRITE Box Cooking Club has been proudly running at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, giving children the chance to learn, create and grow through the joy of cooking 👩🍳🧡. This year, we were thrilled to offer two extra sessions, made possible thanks to the generosity and dedication of our wonderful volunteers Sue Thomas, Penny Lehec and their lead, Julia Williamson 🙌. Her commitment continues to make an incredible difference for our young cooks.
This week’s recipes were all about eggs and breakfast 🍳✨! Children enjoyed autumn fruit skewers with toast 🍐🍎🍞, a taste of egg mayonnaise, and then got hands-on making fried eggs and eggy bread.
One student, attending for the very first time, shared something truly touching:
“It’s been my dream to come to Cooking Club… I’m so glad I could join, and I hope I can keep coming.” 💛
These sentiments were echoed by Headteacher Mrs L. Flower and Kate Shaw, Child and Family Wellbeing Lead, who expressed their gratitude for our dedicated lead, celebrated how famous the cooking club has become within the school 🌟, and shared how excited the children are each time it returns. Their words highlight just how special this club truly is.
Unfortunately, the future of BRITE Box Cooking Club is funding dependent 💭. To keep offering these opportunities — and hopefully expand them — we are actively seeking support.
If you or someone you know may be able to help, or if you’d like to get involved, please reach out.
Together, we can keep this special space open for all the children who benefit from it 🤝💚.
