What a lovely way to spend an evening! Last night's meeting was fab with another amazing turnout (eighteen of us in total). We invented new words and discussed reading a text like a writer - being alert to character clues, structure, and what makes for good prose. We were inspired by one of James Robertson's 365 stories, and we shared, discussed, and supported one another, as per usual.

Hope to see you next month! Mark your diaries for June 24th ☺️

Who's ready to do some writing?
Join us on Wednesday at Hull Central Library for our monthly meeting from 5.30 - 7.30pm.
We will be exploring the topic "Reading as a Writer" with prompts and exercises as always.
We're a friendly bunch, I promise 🥰

We had such a lovely group last night, with a couple of new faces and several coming along for the second time. Prompts and exercises got us scribbling away, and Valerie, Louise, and Lynda gave a joint tutorial that explored the different ways in which writers plot and plan their stories. Are you a plotter or a pantser? Or maybe you fall somewhere in between?

Hope to see you all next time when Lynda talks with us about 'Reading as a Writer.'

Join us tomorrow evening for our monthly meeting at Hull Central Library from 5.30 - 7.30pm!

Another fabulously fun meeting tonight as we contemplated the voice of an object and responded to the prompts, "Let's not be quiet..." and "What haunts us..."
A big thanks to everyone who came out on this stormy night and made it all worthwhile 😊

We had a fun and fab February meeting last night, though we dearly missed our Louise. Our special guest Cassandra gave an excellent and informative tutorial on flash fiction and we all got to take away a uniquely crafted outline for creating a flash piece of our own. I very much look forward to reading some of your efforts next month!

Join us next month for further prompts and exercises, plus Valerie's tutorial on the voice of an object.

So what’s behind the green (or even teal), door? You would have found that out at tonight’s ‘All Write Now’. Where multiple intriguing (green door) tales were shared…So good!
Our special guest Cassandra Parkin delivered a most excellent tutorial on writing flash fiction, followed by an equally excellent exercise…We will be flashing our fiction around at the next meeting.
A great night had by all 🧡

Last night, on our one year anniversary, we set a new attendance record with seventeen of us gathered to write, support, and learn 😀
It was wonderful to see so many new faces, and to welcome back others that we hadn't seen in a while.
Louise gave a tutorial about performing our pieces aloud for others, and we discussed little hints and tips that could help us to be more effective when delivering to an audience.
Next month we will be delving into the world of Flash Fiction with guest presenter Cassandra. Hope to see you there!

Next week is our first meeting of the new year and we're looking forward to kicking things off 😊
Louise will be giving the tutorial on performing your pieces aloud. She has plenty of experience to draw from, having done talks and presentations up and down the country at book tours and conventions, theatre presentations, W.I. guest spots, and radio interviews.
Please be assured that you will not be required to demonstrate your skills, but you may come away with some very useful pointers!
We will also get you writing with prompts and exercises as per usual.
See you at the library on Jan. 28th at 5.30.
