Hull Community Kitchen Working alongside our community to fight food poverty in Hull since 2022. We are a weekly kitchen that starts 7pm every Saturday outside the BBC Building.

We serve free hot food, hot drinks, and snacks to those in need.

It's that time of the week again to start cooking for the Saturday soup kitchen! 🍲👨‍🍳

We have been kindly donated enough chicken casserole to cover the main course, and we also have one of Christine's lovely apple crumbles to serve for pudding, with hot custard, of course! 🍮 😋

So today, I am busy working on sides to use up 7.5kg of potatoes and some of our other veggies like broccoli and onions, any guesses what it might be?

Over 30 users tonight, good job we packed loads of hot jacket potatoes, and (almost) enough baked beans and homemade cheese-and-onion savoury mix!

Thankfully there was more than enough homemade pineapple upside down cake and pink custard for valentine's day.

Thanks as always for the donations of baked goods and supermarket surplus!

Nothing better than jacket potatoes to warm people up on the last evening of January.

Except perhaps the great donation of high quality winter jackets alongside!

Last night's menu was 20kg of jumbo potatoes with cheese, beans and tuna mayo, which went down a treat alongside some delicious homemade crumble with custard.
